Product description
Mid-tone surface to boost contrast: The toned tan paper provides a neutral background that helps both dark and light marks show clearly, so you can add highlights with white gel pens and deepen values with charcoal for a more dimensional result.
Multi-media compatibility: The sheet surface is built to accept a variety of dry and light wet media. It performs well with graphite, colored pencils, charcoal, markers used sparingly, and pastels without excessive feathering when used appropriately.
Sturdy, textured paper: Each book contains 60 sheets of 90lb (150gsm) textured toned tan drawing paper. The weight and tooth resist easy tearing and reduce ghosting, allowing for erasing, blending, and several layers of application.
Wire-o binding and removable pages: The double-loop wire binding lets the pad lie flat for unobstructed drawing across the page. Pages are micro-perforated so finished work can be torn out neatly for display or mounting.
Eco-conscious construction and format: This 11 x 14 inch sketchbook is made from recycled materials (noted as 100% recycled content with 30% post-consumer waste) and includes a hard cover for protection. It’s sized for studio use or travel and is suitable for artists, illustrators, and students.
Pros
- Neutral mid-tone that enhances highlights and shadows
- 90lb/150gsm textured pages hold dry media well
- Wire-o binding lies flat; micro-perfs remove cleanly
Cons
- Not ideal for heavy water media
- Markers can bleed if applied heavily
- Some users may find pages slightly thin for wet techniques
VerdictThis sketchbook gives artists a neutral mid-tone base that makes highlights and shadows pop. The 90lb/150gsm textured pages handle dry media—graphite, charcoal, colored pencils—and light layered work well; heavy wet washes or aggressive marker use may require precautions. The wire-o binding lies flat and the micro-perforations let you remove sheets cleanly. The recycled paper and sturdy hardcover

Varied sizes and tones I keep returning to
I own multiple notebooks from this line in several tones and formats. The covers feel solid and the paper accepts charcoal, graphite and colored pencil nicely. I’ve used a very light watercolor after removing pages and it held up okay. With so many colors and sizes available I’ll keep buying them.

Nice large toned gray pad
The gray paper makes my work stand out when I use both white and black pencils. The surface feels pleasant for drawing and handles graphite, charcoal and colored pencils with no bleed-through from dry media. The spiral lies flat and the page size has plenty of room.

Will buy again
Good value and solid quality. No bleeding with the media I used, pages arrived flat and the binding is strong.

Exactly what my son needed
This was perfect for his art class. The paper is thick enough and tears out easily. The ring binding keeps pages secure and resists accidental ripping.

Smooth for blending, slightly thin
The paper has a smooth tooth and blends well. It feels a bit thin but remains durable. I haven’t tested markers yet, but graphite and charcoal work great. Note the dimensions were a bit different than expected; I like the warm gray tone.

Perfect for my granddaughters' art
These sketch pads are solid and long-lasting. I buy them yearly for my granddaughters to explore ink, watercolor, oil and more. The pages come away easily for framing, and each book has 100 pages making them useful as small portfolios.

Responsive support and a great travel size
There was an order hiccup but the company fixed it quickly and politely, which impressed me. The size is ideal for travel—large enough to work comfortably but compact to carry. The hardcover feels premium. Pages are a touch thin for me, but fine for ballpoint and colored pencil; heavy markers may seep through so I put scrap paper behind.
