Product description
What you get: one spiral-bound hardcover sketchbook sized at approximately 5.8 × 8.5 inches, containing 40 sheets (80 pages) of 200gsm drawing paper. The book is finished with a rigid front and back cover and a metal wire spine that allows the pages to turn freely and the sketchbook to lay flat.
Paper and performance: the pages are 200 grams per square meter, a substantial weight that provides noticeable tooth and body. That paper weight works well with graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, oil pastels and light watercolor washes or water-soluble pencils. The surface holds layers and reworking better than standard notebook paper and helps prevent medium transfer to the reverse side.
Construction and use: the hardcover protects your work in a backpack or tote, and the spiral binding permits full rotation of the pages so you can draw in portrait or landscape. The format is portable for studies, sketches, and practice sessions. While the paper resists bleed-through, heavier wet techniques may cause some buckling that typically relaxes after the book is closed for a time.
Practical notes: the compact dimensions make this sketchbook convenient for carrying and everyday drawing. The paper’s tooth provides grip for dry media and enough absorbency for modest washes. If you need extensive heavy-wash use or a high page count, you may prefer a specialist block or a thicker volume, but for mixed-media practice and sketching on the go this format is very serviceable.
Pros
- Thick 200gsm paper suited to multiple mediums
- Rigid hardcover protects pages
- Wire binding lays flat for easy drawing
Cons
- Only 40 sheets (80 pages)
- Can buckle with heavier wet washes
- Not intended for heavy soaking techniques
VerdictA dependable, travel-friendly sketchbook that delivers sturdy protection and versatile 200gsm pages for many dry and light-wash techniques. The hardcover and wire binding make it easy to work across spreads, though the page count is modest and heavier wet work can cause some buckling.

Excellent quality — recommended for students
Well-made pad with a thick, solid cover. I bought it for my 14-year-old and the durability is perfect for carrying in a school bag. The pages are a nice white and pencil marks look good on them. I highly recommend this sketchbook for sketches and practice.

Really enjoyable to draw in
The texture and weight of the sheets make this a pleasure for pencil, ink, and light marker work. The binding is strong and the book lays flat, which helps when working across facing pages. Holds up well to varied media and is a solid choice for artists at any level.

Great value and performs well
Bought this for a daily art challenge and it has been impressive. The 200gsm handled colored pencils and water-soluble media like Neocolor II and Inktense washes with minimal issues. I used both sides of the paper and experienced some buckle, but closing the book flattened it out. I placed copy sheets between pages to reduce transfer from softer media. Not museum-grade paper, but excellent for practice and experiments.

Sturdy sketchbook with substantial paper
I wanted something more durable than the thin sketch pads I usually buy. The hardcover feels solid and the spiral binding makes it simple to flip or lay open. The paper is noticeably thicker than regular notebook stock and gives plenty of room to sketch without feeling cramped. Pages turn easily and the book stays open while I work. Practical, reliable — good paper, useful size, and a strong cover. I'd pick one up again.

Solid quality, recommend it
Comfortable size and feels well made. The sheets are thick enough for a variety of supplies and the whole sketchbook seems built to last longer than similar thin pads I've tried.

Good build but check page count
I like the feel so far and the cover is sturdy. I was surprised at first to find only 40 pages, which I hadn't expected, but the paper is thick and promising even before I’ve used it.

Versatile, toothy paper with solid value
Heavier than many sketchbooks, this paper has good tooth and can take a lot of reworking. Colored pencils and oil pencils lay down nicely; alcohol markers showed no bleed-through in my tests. Very juicy pens will be absorbed quickly due to the tooth, so care is required. At this price for a spiral-bound book with this paper weight, it’s a smart purchase. The 80-page total can seem modest, but remember the paper is quite heavy.
