Product description
Single-length design
Each Intercept iron is made to the same playing length, lie angle and head mass so every club feels identical at address and during the swing. This single-length approach lets players use one setup and one motion for every iron, aiming to reduce variables between shots and improve repeatability.
Head design and face technology
The head is a precision-cast stainless steel cavity-back with an advanced undercut cavity and perimeter weighting that shifts mass toward the rear and edges of the clubhead. That increases moment of inertia (MOI) for added stability on off-center strikes. The #5 and #6 irons feature ultra-thin “flex face” construction intended to increase ball speed and maintain proper distance gaps and flight profiles across the longer irons.
Set make-up and components
This right-handed 7-piece set is supplied with 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 irons plus a pitching wedge and a gap wedge. Each club is factory-built to a 37" playing length. Loft specifications are: 5-iron 23.5°, 6-iron 27°, 7-iron 31°, 8-iron 35°, 9-iron 40°, PW 45° and GW 50°. Heads are precision-cast stainless steel and come with Orlimar 95 steel shafts and Orlimar custom velvet grips as the standard configuration.
Fitting options and playing characteristics
To suit different swing speeds and preferences, the Intercept set is offered with steel shafts in Regular and Stiff flexes or with lighter graphite shafts in Senior and Regular flexes. The cavity-back geometry and lowered center of gravity encourage higher launch and softer landings, making the set appealing to players seeking forgiveness and easier approach shots. From the long irons to the gap wedge, the single-length concept aims to help golfers swing with consistency and confidence.
Pros
- Uniform length and feel that simplify setup
- Perimeter weighting and undercut cavity for forgiveness
- Thin long-iron faces to boost ball speed and distance
Cons
- Some reported durability issues with club heads

VerdictThe Intercept single-length irons are built to make your setup repeatable and your swing consistent. They combine a forgiving cavity-back shape and perimeter weighting with thin long-iron faces to help produce higher launch and better distance on the #5 and #6. For players seeking simpler mechanics and steadier gapping across their mid-to-short irons, this set delivers strong value and playable pe

Longtime single-length user returns to Orlimar
I've played single-length irons for several years and tested many models. These Orlimar Intercepts stand out for keeping the offset consistent through the set and offering a familiar, pleasing feel at impact. As a feel-oriented player and instructor, I appreciate their soft, forgiving response. One request: offer a stiff graphite shaft option.

An approachable single-length option
Single-length clubs are promoted by both classic and modern players, and these felt faster and accurate in hand. You don't need to move your feet as you would with progressive lengths. They seem well made and should wear normally over years. I’d recommend this vendor for trying the one-swing approach.

One motion for every iron
Adopt one swing and apply it to each club. Quality feels solid and the perimeter weighting helps stabilize shots.

Solid build, grips need upgrade
These have a nice, heavy feel and contact is satisfying. My only issue was the grips — too thin for my hands, so I replaced them. Overall construction seems good for the price point.

Extremely pleased — bought a second set
First time with single-length and it was exactly what I wanted: no guessing between clubs. Not the best player, but these helped my consistency and ball flight. I liked them enough to buy another set for my dad.

Worth a look for mid-handicap players
I've been playing for 30 years and sit around an 18–20 handicap. My old cavity-backs were due for replacement and the single-length idea intrigued me. The Intercepts look smart without being flashy, and the large cavity should help on off-center hits. They really are all the same length, close to my old progressive-length 7-iron.

Cut strokes after adjusting
After a couple rounds to adapt, these clubs shaved roughly ten strokes from my typical 18-hole scores. I now hit far more pure shots and find accuracy has improved. Switched to larger grip inserts and saw better control.

Incomplete shipment initially
I returned my first order because the description promised seven irons but only one arrived. I reordered and hope the replacement arrives complete this time.

Excited, then disappointed — broken head
I was eager to try these and hit the 7-iron at the range, but distance felt off at first. When I switched to the pitching wedge the head separated from the shaft after fewer than 20 swings. I wasn't hitting off a mat or abusing the club, so I was really disappointed and hesitant to use the rest of the set.

Only received a single club, not a set
My order was supposed to be a seven-piece 5–GW package but I only got one 7-iron. A single club is not a set. Very disappointing and misleading.

Great playability, then abrupt failure
Initial sessions were very promising: more forgiveness, longer carry, and straighter shots. The PW and GW were noticeably longer. On my second range visit the 7-iron head broke off with the shaft sheared inside — an obvious defect.
