Product description
Product contents and sizing: one 40-foot length of T-profile silicone weatherstrip supplied in white. The strip’s overall width is 1.37 inches (35 mm) and its thickness measures about 0.07 inches (1.8 mm). It is intended to bridge and seal gaps from 0 up to about 1 inch (0–13 mm) and can be cut to the lengths you need.
Material and design: the gasket is made from flexible silicone formed into a T-shaped cross section so the stem fits into the gap while the flange adheres along a frame or door edge. One side carries an adhesive backing for mounting; the opposite side of the T helps block airflow, dust, sound and insects.
Performance and use: common applications include frameless sliding doors, glass doors, door bottoms, door jambs, aluminum or plastic windows, cabinet or closet doors, thresholds, and bathrooms or bedrooms where drafts or noise are a concern. It helps reduce heat loss in winter and keeps cool air in during summer, improving HVAC efficiency.
Installation notes: prepare a smooth, dry, grease-free surface before applying. Trim the strip to length with scissors or a utility knife. In cold conditions warm the adhesive tape with a hair dryer to improve tack before pressing the strip into place. For high-traffic doors or uneven surfaces, extra mechanical fasteners (small nails or pins) can be used to keep the strip flush and secure.
Pros
- Long roll and easy to trim to size
- Flexible silicone resists weather and helps block drafts
- Adhesive mounting is quick and simple
Cons
- Functional look may not suit front entries
- Adhesion can fail on some surfaces or if applied in wet/cold conditions
- May require extra fasteners for heavy-use doors
VerdictThis T-profile silicone seal delivers reliable draft reduction and insect exclusion for a variety of doors and windows. The long roll and flexible material make it easy to trim and apply, while the adhesive generally holds well once placed on a clean, dry surface. It’s especially useful on utility or back doors where appearance isn’t critical. Downsides include occasional adhesion failures on some

Kept the roaches out
My building has gaps around the apartment door and bugs would enter. After sealing the edges with this strip I haven’t seen any roaches come inside — huge relief.

Sticks and lasts in humid climates
Thicker than I expected and the adhesive has held up in a tropical climate. Covers under-door gaps well and the strips I installed over two years ago are still in place.

Holding up after months outside
Applied to an aluminum section of a door and after two months of sun and rain it’s still stuck. It won’t adhere in active rain, though.

Filled the stubborn gaps on my front door
I cleaned the edge, attached the strip on three sides, and immediately noticed less street noise. Daylight gaps are gone and it should cut drafts this winter.

Simple and reliable
Very straightforward to apply, adhesive did its job, and the strip feels like a solid product for the price.

Good value for stopping water and drafts
Matched the advertised size and tackiness. Used on a bathroom door to limit water escape; not as perfect as the original part but better than other aftermarket strips I tried.

Mixed quality between pieces
Bought two rolls — one adhered well but the other’s adhesive failed and separated from the strip.

Solved draft from my dog door
Installed on a sliding door with a pet flap. It sticks firmly, flexes as the door moves, and has kept cold air out. Easy and durable.

Instantly reduced drafts — easy install
Old house doors had noticeable gaps. As I applied the strip on exterior doors the cold airflow stopped and the rooms felt warmer. Very simple to fit.

Effective at stopping drafts but plain looking
The T-shape sealed the bottom well and I felt less cold air. It did pull away in spots, so I added a few small nails to keep it flat. Best for back or utility doors.

Works well against insects
Good grip and it performs better on doors than windows. It helped keep tiny bugs from slipping through crevices.
