Product description
This compact heat gun (EC-MINI) is designed to bring high airflow and focused heat to small-scale tasks. The tool produces approximately 9.9 CFM of airflow and draws 350 watts, allowing the nozzle to reach roughly 640°F quickly so you can finish shrinking, shaping, or drying without long waits. A heat-shrink reflector attachment is included for safer, more uniform shrinking on electrical connectors and tubing.
The body is built from impact-resistant plastic to withstand shop and jobsite use, and the pen-like form factor gives fine control in cramped areas where larger guns can’t reach. A simple wire stand is integrated into the design so the gun can be set down securely to cool between passes without laying it on its side.
Intended uses span crafts and light industrial work: candle and jewelry crafting, heat embossing, decal or paint removal, epoxy and resin finishing, vinyl work, and wiring tasks like heat shrink tubing and connector seating. The focused stream plus enhanced airflow helps avoid scorching nearby materials while still providing effective shrink results.
What’s in the box: the EC-MINI heat gun and a heat-shrink reflector/nozzle for concentrated shrinking. The compact footprint makes it easy to store on a bench or in a tool bag, and its size makes it convenient for repeat, close-up work. Built and backed by Master Appliance, a family-owned industrial heat tool maker from Racine, Wisconsin, established in 1958.
Pros
- High airflow (9.9 CFM) with 350 W power for quick heating
- Small, pen-like shape and included heat-shrink reflector for precise work
- Impact-resistant housing and built-in wire stand for safe cooling
Cons
- Construction feels basic compared with larger pro guns
- Vulnerable to damage if dropped while powered on
- Limited feature set — no digital controls or settings
VerdictA versatile pocket-sized heat gun that combines focused output and above-average airflow for faster, more even heating. It’s handy for precision craftwork and electrical shrink applications, with a rugged housing and a reflector nozzle included; some users note a basic feel to the construction.

Hot and functional
Does what it should — reaches temperature and works well. Delivery was slower than expected, but the tool itself operates fine.

Replaced two guns with one
I build fishing lures and used two different guns for drying and shaping. This mini handles both drying paint and forming bucktail streamers, clearing space on my bench. Heat and airflow are impressive for the size.

Solved a quick repair
Used it to repair a holiday inflatable plug. Heats and cools fast and made the fix simple. Very satisfied with the result.

Ideal size for heat shrink
Handy for tubing up to about 1.5 inches diameter. Compact, lightweight, and quick to heat. I bought a second unit to keep one in the shop and one at home.

Be careful when setting it down
Generates strong heat and the attachment makes shrinking easy, but it failed after a drop while powered on. Replaced it and the new one works well — be cautious about falls.
