Product description
Construction and steel: The blade features a three-layer clad design with a 10Cr15CoMoV core forged via composite forging. The core receives vacuum heat treatment to stabilize hardness around 60±2 HRC, aiming to improve edge retention and toughness.
Edge geometry and finishing: The cutting edge is formed by a wet manual V grind at roughly 15° per side, completed through a 12-step hand process to balance sharpness and durability. The blade surface is treated with a black stone-wash to create an aged look, then sandblasted and polished to help the edge maintain its bite.
Handle and ergonomics: The handle is an octagonal style crafted from redwood and accented with black buffalo horn, following a Japanese-inspired profile. Its shape is meant to be comfortable to hold and offer precise control for delicate tasks like peeling, trimming and paring.
Dimensions and use: With a 5.3-inch blade length, this petty/utility knife is intended for small to medium prep work—paring fruit, trimming vegetables, cleaning fish and other detail cutting jobs where agility matters.
What’s included and support: The sold item includes the 5.3" knife and accompanying lifetime warranty card. The manufacturer offers ongoing customer support for quality concerns and stands behind the blade’s construction and finish.

Handy, very well balanced
Excellent utility knife. It arrives sharp but the steel is on the tougher side to sharpen. The balance is spot on, and I reach for it all the time.

Solid all-purpose cutter
Nice blade and I like the Japanese-style handle — very comfortable. I gave it a single hone and it sliced a carrot like butter. Stable 60 HRC feel, records well on sharpness tests. A quick strop keeps it at peak performance.

Great for fish cleaning
Very sharp and sits well in the hand. I use it to clean fish and it slices through rib sections with no trouble.

Gift hit, small origin gripe
My partner absolutely adores this knife. Only oddity is the "Made in China" marking on a Japanese-style design, which he found amusing.

Comfortable but needs a sharper edge
Feels good in hand, but out of the box it required a bit more force than I expected for a new blade.

Very well made. I love the overall execution — fit and finish are excellent.

Sharp but not slippery
Edge is sharp enough, though the sandblasted/stone-wash finish prevents the blade from sliding cleanly through some produce.
