Product description
Packaged as a single squeezable tube, this product contains 3.17 ounces (90 grams) of prepared wasabi paste. The tube format makes dispensing controlled portions simple and reduces mess compared with powdered mixes or freshly grated rhizome.
Labeled as a Japanese product and produced under S&B branding, the paste is intended to be used straight from the tube. Common uses include combining a small amount with soy sauce to make a dipping sauce for sushi or sashimi, spreading it into mayonnaise or sour cream-based dips, or stirring it into rice and seafood dishes for additional heat.
Because it arrives ready-made, this paste is convenient for home cooks who want the kick of wasabi without preparing fresh root. The tube preserves the paste between uses; refrigerate after opening and squeeze out only the quantity needed for each meal.
Pros
- Convenient, ready-to-use tube
- Family-sized 3.17 oz (90 g)
- Strong, quick nasal-clearing heat
Cons
- Not the same as freshly grated wasabi root
- Very pungent — a little goes far
- Contains horseradish-forward flavor rather than complex wasabi notes
VerdictThis family-sized squeezable tube delivers a convenient, intense horseradish-forward wasabi experience straight from Japan. It’s ideal for those who want an easy-to-use paste to mix into soy or sauces, top sushi and sashimi, or spike dips and fried rice. Good product, gluten-free
A nice product and labeled gluten-free.

Not genuine wasabi root
Despite the label, this contains only a small amount of true wasabi. It’s mostly horseradish paste, so it lacks the layered flavors and silky texture of fresh wasabi and doesn’t match the delicate pungency of the real rhizome.

Excellent flavor and shelf life
I’ll buy it again — the flavor is excellent and the paste stores well in the tube.

Makes tasty sauces and lasts a long time
Arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. I've bought this previously — it flavors sauces beautifully, especially with Japanese dishes. The larger tube stretches a long way because just a dab gives plenty of heat. I mix it with soy for dipping crab or shrimp and stir some into shrimp fried rice.

Restaurant-style sushi at home
We roll lots of maki at home and this paste gives our rolls the same feel as dining out. The flavor is pleasing and quite authentic for prepared paste.

Great way to spice up dips
I add this paste to a homemade dill dip to give it a sharper bite. I mix mayo, low-fat sour cream, plain Greek yogurt, chopped green onion, freeze-dried dill, and as much wasabi as I like, plus pepper and a touch of hot sauce for balance.

Extremely potent — use sparingly
This is very intense. I normally pile wasabi on my sushi but can only tolerate a tiny speck of this one. Straight from the tube it’s almost overwhelming.

Handy tube for those who don’t prep fresh wasabi
This isn’t a new concept, but having wasabi in a tube is extremely practical for people who don’t grate fresh root. It’s milder than freshly made wasabi, but it’s cleaner, less messy, and serves our household well. I’m happy to recommend it.

Good value and nostalgic flavor
True wasabi aficionados will object, but this paste tastes like my childhood — that sharp nose-clearing hit paired with soy. I wanted a bigger tube for sashimi nights and this size is perfect.

Bright green and packs a punch
This neon green tube will split opinion — purists dislike it, but I enjoy the horseradish bite. It clears the sinuses, has a saline edge, and beats the other prepared varieties I've tried. The family-size tube is larger than what I buy locally and disappears fast with friends around.

Intensely hot
I tested a small dab on my fingertip and it was definitely HOT. It’s essentially horseradish with green coloring, but it delivers the strong heat I was after.
