Product description
What’s included and what it is: The MyDMX Go is a compact DMX interface designed to be used with a tablet running the MyDMX Go app for iPad, Android or Fire tablets. The package ships with the lightweight metal interface plus O‑clamp brackets for mounting to truss, a 3‑pin XLR port for DMX output, and USB power input for quick integration.
Channels, control and fixtures: Out of the box the system controls 256 DMX channels with available upgrade paths to 512 channels. The app connects to the interface over Wi‑Fi or local USB connection and gives you control over speed, size, color palettes, shift, fade and fan effects. There’s a large fixture library—more than 15,000 profiles—so you can link different brands and types without buying new fixtures. The software supports zero‑programming operation with 50 user‑saveable presets and 21 automatic effects for fast show creation.
Integration and use: The unit is compact and lightweight for easy rigging using the supplied O‑clamps. It can feed up to two universes via standard 3‑pin XLR cabling when configured for expanded output, and runs from tablet USB power or a separate USB supply. The app allows creation and storage of scenes, live manual control, and automated sequences. Additional software upgrades and fixture packs are available from the developer to expand capability and add profiles.
Pros
- Tablet-based wireless control for quick setups
- Extensive fixture library (15,000+ profiles)
- Compact, easy-to-mount hardware with USB power
Cons
- Wi‑Fi can be flaky in congested environments
- Some cheaper/nonstandard fixtures need manual tweaking
- Occasional app instability reported on some devices
VerdictA lightweight, app-driven DMX interface aimed at DJs, clubs, and small installs that want tablet control without a full console. It provides 256-channel control out of the box (with upgrade options to 512), a 15,000+ fixture library, 50 user presets and 21 auto effects for rapid show building. The hardware is easy to mount and integrates via standard 3-pin XLR and USB power, but several users repo

Buen producto, cumple
Funciona bien y cumple su función. Recomiendo anclar la interfaz a un router para mejorar la estabilidad en redes ocupadas.

Great product 5/5
Hardware solid, app needs polish
The interface itself performs well, but the tablet app can be sluggish and occasionally glitchy during complex shows.

Lo uso desde hace años
Al principio me dio dolores de cabeza con Wi‑Fi y configuración, pero tras dedicarle un par de días lo uso desde hace años. También funciona por conexión directa al tablet; en iPad me costó más.

Excellent for small shows
Very straightforward to set up and operate. Ideal for compact light shows and small events.

Too fiddly for my fixtures
Couldn’t get many of my lights to behave even following the instructions. Worked fine with name‑brand beam lamps but not with cheaper fixtures.

Great beginner DMX controller
Perfect for newcomers who don’t want a desk — simple app, fast setup, and it makes basic moving lights and light bars look far better than auto modes.

Feature-packed and worth it
Compact unit with lots of useful features. I’m very happy with the capabilities for small gigs.

Unreliable Wi‑Fi and poor support
When it works the effects look great, but the unit disconnects frequently on my setup with fog machines and multiple heads. Support was slow and repair turnaround was unacceptable for my schedule.

Disconnects too often
Bought new and tried with an Android tablet; looked easy in videos but Chinese lights struggled to stay connected. It works best with recognized brand fixtures and still needs close monitoring.

Sehr gutes Interface
Anfangs Probleme mit der Netzwerkverbindung waren mein Fehler. Nutze es fest installiert, steuere meinen Varytec damit und finde die Bedienung einfach – auch für Laien.

Perfect for compact setups
Small, reliable and easy to carry. Works well for DJ gigs and small productions when fixtures are compatible.

Worked after a learning curve
Initially it wouldn’t control my mini movers despite finding fixture files. After reworking the DMX addressing and routing the lights properly it began functioning. I run ADJ Hex Mega Pars, Lixada and MFL moving heads now and the unit handles them when set up correctly.

Fun and mostly reliable
Great hardware and clever software. Connection hiccups happen if the tablet sleeps, but restarting the app fixes it and updates will likely improve this.
