Product description
The body is molded from high-borosilicate glass rated to withstand extreme heat (up to 842°F / 450°C), so it tolerates boiling stock without cracking or deforming.
Included with the glass carafe is a fine-mesh filter made of 304 stainless steel that traps bits, pulp, and solids while allowing grease and clear broth to pass through. A plastic lid and a silicone stop valve complete the top and bottom assemblies.
A silicone valve at the base provides a leak-proof release mechanism and a silicone plug at the base helps prevent drips when pouring. Most parts are dishwasher-safe for simple cleanup. The unit is sized with a bottom outer diameter of about 10.5 cm (4.2 in), making it compatible with quart-sized wide-mouth canning jars.
Made from food-grade materials — borosilicate glass, silicone, plastic trim, and 304 stainless steel — this separator holds roughly four cups of liquid and is intended for separating fat to make leaner gravies, soups, sauces, and stock with minimal effort.
Pros
- High-temp borosilicate glass resists thermal shock
- Fine 304 stainless mesh filters residue effectively
- Bottom drain and silicone valve reduce spills
Cons
- Plastic lid and fittings may be less durable than glass
- Some designs leave interior openings when stored
- Small plastic fasteners can be fragile
VerdictThis 4-cup glass separator combines durable, high-temperature borosilicate with a tight stainless-steel mesh and a bottom-release silicone valve to make separating fat from broth fast and tidy. It’s designed to sit on wide-mouth quart jars and is mostly dishwasher-safe, so it’s convenient for frequent broth and gravy makers. Expect excellent filtration of solids and reliable sealing, though some u

Clever design — glad it’s glass
Works brilliantly for skimming fat from bone broth. I appreciate the glass body instead of plastic for hot liquids. Dishwasher-safe parts make cleanup easy and it speeds up a tedious step.

Easy to use and keep clean
I’ve used it several times and like that only the lid is plastic. It outperforms old spout-style separators and is straightforward to wash. Should last with careful handling.

Handy for homemade broth
Nice kitchen addition — makes separating broth grease quick and the glass construction is a real advantage. Cleans up well and looks sturdy.

Replaced cracked plastic version
Tried it once and it performed perfectly. My previous plastic separator cracked from heat; this glass model handled hot chicken soup without issue using the metal strainer.

Helps reduce household fat intake
This makes it easy to skim excess grease so meals are leaner for the whole family. Simple to use and a useful tool for healthier gravies and soups.

Good filtration but a storage gap
The stainless mesh catches small bits well and the bottom-release works smoothly. Most parts are glass or stainless, but the handle has openings that leave the interior exposed if left sitting out.

Fits quart jars and handles big batches
Exactly what I needed for large broth batches — it sits on a wide-mouth quart jar and copes with the heat and volume. I use a coarse strainer for solids first, then this to remove grease with no fuss.

Arrived with a broken plastic screw
Separator works fine but a small plastic mounting screw was snapped on arrival and I only noticed at first use. Disappointing packaging quality control.

Durable glass bottom-drain wins out
Combines the efficiency of a bottom-drain design with borosilicate glass durability, so you don’t get the cracking plastic issues common in cheaper units. Great concept executed well.
