Versatile Asian Dipping Sauce Recipes for Every Meal

I love a local restaurant that serves lettuce wraps with an unforgettable Asian dipping sauce. The wraps are delicious on their own, but a good dunk or a light drizzle of that sauce elevates them to something special.

This homemade version captures that flavor I crave. I’ve made it many times over the years and use it for far more than just lettuce wraps.

What Makes This Dip So Good?

  • Fast and simple to prepare. Combine the ingredients in a bowl and whisk — that’s all it takes.
  • Balanced flavours. Salty, spicy, and sweet notes come together for a lively, well-rounded sauce.
  • Extremely versatile. It pairs beautifully with dumplings, dim sum, spring rolls, lettuce wraps, and more. It’s also delicious drizzled over rice or noodles.
  • Great as a marinade. Use it to marinate chicken, beef, or other proteins before grilling or pan-frying for extra flavor.

How To Make Asian Dipping Sauce

Making this sauce is straightforward. Measure the ingredients (reserve the green onions), add everything except the onions to a medium bowl, and whisk until the sugar dissolves and the sriracha is fully incorporated. Stir in the sliced green onions just before serving if you like a fresh bite.

The sauce is ready immediately and can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1–2 weeks.

Recipes To Serve With This Sauce
