Bunny Cookie Pops Recipe: Cute Cookie Pops for Parties

I decorated some more Oreos for you—moreos, if you will. I loved the letter cookie pops I posted last week so much that I couldn’t resist turning a few into cute bunny cookie pops. They’re surprisingly simple and wonderfully adorable.

I used a Playful Shapes Mold to make the bunny ears and little bow ties—this mold is really handy for small details.

P.S. Check out the bunny cookies from Cake Pop Crazy on Instagram that used the mustache and eyeglasses shapes from the same mold—super cute variations. The mold can also create flower petals; Stacey’s Cake Pops used it to make adorable turkey feathers.

For the ears, fill the center of the ear shape with melted pink candy wafers and let it set. Then fill the rest of the cavity with melted white candy wafers. Tap the mold on the counter to level the coating, then chill it for a few minutes to speed up setting. Remove the shapes from the mold by pressing and twisting the plastic over a towel on the counter.

Make the molded shapes ahead of time to save minutes on the day you decorate.

If you don’t have a mold, you can pipe ear shapes on wax paper using melted candy coating. Pipe the pink center first and, once dry, pipe white around it. The front will look smooth and finished while the back may be a bit uneven—still perfectly usable.

Separate the cookies and dip the end of a pop stick in melted candy coating. Press the stick into the crème center and reassemble the cookies. Add a little extra coating around the stick base to secure it, and let it set before dipping the whole cookie.

Dip each cookie fully in melted white candy wafers, letting excess drip off for a smooth finish.

Dip the bottom ends of two pre-made ears into coating and position them on top of the dipped cookie. Do one ear at a time and hold it in place briefly until it adheres. Work patiently—balancing the ears can take a few tries. Place the pops in a stand and allow them to dry completely.

To decorate the faces, I used a few simple candies and tools.

White M&Ms or candy gems make great cheeks, pastel sunflower seeds work well for tiny pink noses, DIY sugar eyes add character, and the same Playful Shapes Mold can create little bows. Attach the candies with melted white coating; once the coating sets, the candies will be secured to the front of the cookie. Finish by drawing pupils or small details with a black edible-ink pen.

You can find molds, pop sticks, candy wafers and sugar eyes at craft stores or directly from mold suppliers, but feel free to use materials you already have. Once the ears are in place, the front of the cookie becomes a blank canvas—try heart sprinkle noses, confetti sprinkle eyes, mini marshmallow cheeks, or any combination you like.

Have fun decorating and happy hopping—hope you enjoy these little cookie cuties.
