Product description
VZ 2.0 coated steel
The frame is fabricated from a new alloy blend—steel treated with zinc, magnesium and aluminum—then finished with an AkzoNobel paint that meets USDA standards. The company refers to this combination as VZ 2.0, a corrosion-resistant surface engineered for long life and validated in independent corrosion testing at the Texas A&M National Corrosion & Materials Reliability Lab.
Structural design and capacity
Panels connect to one-piece welded corners and legs and include a lower support bracket to stiffen the frame. The 1.5' x 5.5' model is rated to support up to 750 pounds when assembled correctly, providing a solid platform for soil, plants and watering.
Dimensions and ergonomics
Overall height is 32 inches; models equipped with optional wheels reach about 36 inches. The planting cavity provides roughly 12 inches of soil depth, enough for most vegetables, herbs and flowers while keeping gardening tasks upright and easier on the back.
Assembly and safety details
The kit arrives with panels, legs, fasteners and a heavy-duty rubber edging that fits over the top lip to smooth sharp edges. No advanced construction skills are required—assembly involves aligning parts and tightening hardware—but larger runs will take longer and benefit from a helper. Some users swap or add acorn nuts for a uniform look after assembly.
System and accessories
The raised bed is offered as part of a wider gardening lineup: compatible covers, frost shields, worm composters, and irrigation components are available separately to expand functionality for year-round and container gardening needs.

High quality, simple to assemble
Assembly was very straightforward thanks to clear illustrations. This is my second bed from the brand and the older unit still looks like new. Even though the box was scuffed, the packing protected the components well.

Great quality; easy solo builds
Very good construction. I assembled three beds by myself over a few sessions — roughly an hour per bed on average — and they are solid and stable once complete.

Fantastic unit — get casters if you’ll move it
This raised bed is sturdy and straightforward to assemble. My one regret: not choosing the caster-equipped model. If you want mobility, use M16x30mm stem casters (2.5") — heavy-duty swivel casters with brakes fit and let me reposition the bed for sun and shade.

Very sturdy and attractive elevated bed
I love this raised garden bed. It feels solid and well-constructed, and the elevated height makes planting far easier on my back. The design looks modern and fits nicely in my yard.

Well built — mind the acorn nut step
Good material quality. The instructions call for a mix of caps and standard nuts which would leave mismatched exposed hardware. I bought matching 6M acorn nuts separately so the exterior looked uniform. Once adjusted, the final assembly was clean and sturdy.

Heavy-duty planter but plan on longer assembly
Very pleased with the finished build, but the 8-foot version took substantial time to assemble—about 3½ hours without breaks. Some instruction illustrations were confusing and I had to reorient a couple of support bars. The supplied Allen key is serviceable but you may prefer your own set for speed.

Hearth & Hollow 5/5
Handy size for herbs, comfortable height for seniors
After a few weeks of use, the 2'x4' size is ideal for my herb garden on the porch. The materials stand up to weather and the edges are smooth. At my age the raised height reduces bending strain. It took about 30–45 minutes to assemble with basic tools, and even my 9‑year‑old could help.

Solid craftsmanship and careful packaging
I already own other items from Vego and this elevated bed continues their quality trend. The 2'x4' unit arrived well protected, with packaging that prevented dents or scratches. The finished dimensions are a hair under spec (about 1/4"–1/2"), which actually makes fitting it into tight spots easier. Coating and fit are excellent overall.
