Product description
Note: This listing contains only the tungsten electrode sharpener head assembly and accessories. A rotary tool (Dremel-style or similar) is required but not included.
Operation is straightforward: the grinding head has fixed holes sized for specific electrode diameters and preset angles, so you slide the tungsten into the appropriate guide hole and bring it to the diamond wheel — no continuous height adjustment is required. Each hole includes an offset compensation so the tip of the electrode is positioned on the grinding center, helping ensure consistent, centered tips every time. Because the holes are fixed, the unit is user-friendly for beginners and repeatable for experienced users as well.
Supported electrode diameters are 5/32", 1/8", 3/32", 5/64", 1/16", and 0.040". The guide offers eight angled hole options corresponding to common tip geometries: 7.5°, 10°, 15°, 20°, 22.5°, 25°, 27.5°, and 30° hole angles (producing typical tip angles in the wider ranges used for TIG welding). The head is CNC-machined for accurate hole placement and centering.
Package contents: one tungsten electrode grinding head, three CNC mandrels, and ten double-sided diamond grinding wheels. The mandrels thread into your rotary tool so the diamond wheels can be mounted; wheels are double-sided for extended use.
Safety note: use a face mask, eye protection, and other PPE when grinding unless working in a fully enclosed dust-collection setup. If you need assistance with setup or operation, contact the seller for support.
Pros
- Fixed-hole design for repeatable tip centering
- Kit includes 10 double-sided diamond wheels and 3 CNC mandrels
- CNC-machined head ensures accurate hole spacing and alignment
Cons
- Grinding wheels may be unbalanced or wear quickly
- Requires careful mandrel stickout setup to align wheels
- May not fit rotary tools with very short arbors or odd chucks
VerdictThis sharpening head assembly delivers repeatable tip geometry and a generous accessory pack, making it a practical choice for welders who sharpen frequently. The CNC-machined head and fixed holes simplify alignment and maintain the grind center, while the included mandrels and double-sided diamond wheels let you get started right away. Expect to spend a little time setting mandrel stickout for op

Does what it claims
Simple and effective — it makes sharpening tungsten quick and straightforward. No surprises, just consistent points.

Affordable option for TIG electrode maintenance
Perfect for someone learning TIG — I mounted it to a Milwaukee M12 rotary tool and sharpened all my tungsten. Sturdy aluminum construction and a good range of angle options made it very useful for shop practice.

Great value for quick tungsten sharpening
Sharpens quickly and mounted cleanly to a Milwaukee M12 rotary. The diamond wheels supplied wear out sooner than I’d like, but replacements are inexpensive and easy to fit. Prefer this guided design to others I’ve tried.

Great head, poor wheels
The grinding head itself is excellent and fit other grinders I have, but the included wheel shafts were bent and the disks wore out quickly. I was only getting about one decent tungsten per disk and sourcing correct disk sizes has been a hassle.

Solid head, unbalanced wheels
Quality of the CNC head and the number of wheels looked promising, but the diamond wheels were poorly balanced and caused vibration at speed. That slowed the process down and left slight swirl marks on some electrodes, though the head’s angle accuracy is good.

Excellent Dremel-compatible accessory
This gadget installed easily on my Dremel and uses the standard collet. It’s simple to remove if you need the tool for other work. Light, steady pressure produces a sharp point; a retired Dremel makes a cheap dedicated sharpener.

Quickly sharpens new tungstens once set up
Initial setup of mandrel stickout and wheel alignment takes a bit of fiddling, but once clamped it becomes a fast way to put points on tungsten. I mounted the head on a dedicated rotary tool so I don’t have to reconfigure it each time. Angles look accurate for shop work. If you spin rods in a drill you may see some wear in the guide holes over long use, but for my welding needs perfect precision isn’t required.

Fast sharpening and fits my Dremel
Switched from a bench setup and this has sped up my workflow. The variety of guide holes covers common rod sizes, the wheels mounted cleanly on my Dremel, and the whole assembly screws on without fuss. Note that tools with chucks set back from the end may not work.
