Product description
This transparent green welding curtain is a single-panel screening solution intended to reduce visible glare from welding arcs while preserving sightlines. Each panel arrives with metal grommets already installed for hanging (mounting tubing or framing is not included).
The material is 14 mil PVC vinyl designed to resist tearing; it is treated to be flame resistant and also resists mildew and water. The curtain is engineered to filter both far and near ultraviolet radiation and to attenuate blue light from welding arcs, helping shield people nearby and protecting windows or equipment behind the screen.
Grommets are spaced at 8 inches apart along one width edge and 16 inches apart along both height edges to facilitate suspension from overhead rails or pipe. Actual panel measurements can vary by up to 3 inches in width and height from the listed dimensions, so panels should be measured before fitting into permanent frames.
This product meets NFPA 701 flame resistance criteria and complies with ANSI/FM 4960 and California Fire Marshal requirements for screening materials. It creates a containment barrier that can make extraction of fumes and vapors more efficient, but it is not intended to replace welding helmets, goggles, or other eye and face protection.
Pros
- Filters UV and blue light while retaining visibility
- Durable 14 mil PVC resists tearing, flame, mildew, and water
- Preinstalled grommets for quick hanging
Cons
- Panel dimensions can differ from listed sizes
- Grommet placement and count may be inconsistent
- Not a substitute for personal welding PPE
VerdictThis 14 mil PVC transparent welding curtain offers durable arc protection and visual clarity for shared workspaces. It filters far and near UV and blue light, provides a physical barrier for sparks and spatter, and supports improved fume control when used as a containment screen. Installation is straightforward thanks to preinstalled grommets, though actual panel dimensions and grommet spacing can

Handy and effective
I set up a conduit rod over a large porch window and hung this with curtain hooks. It slides aside when not needed and I pull it across to protect the glass and anyone inside while welding. Works exactly as intended.

Eye saver
Stops the laser engraver glare from bothering me when I walk past the bench.

Sturdy material, heavy panels
Arrived quickly and the vinyl is tough. They are fairly heavy, so plan on a robust support frame or mount.

Works outdoors
Built a frame and it provides good arch and wind protection when I weld outside.

Great sun blocker
I used it as a shade on my porch and it cuts the sun nicely — much more comfortable now.

Missing advertised panels
Listing indicated multiple panels, but I received far fewer than expected. Contacted seller — disappointing.

Inconsistent sizing on bulk order
Bought many panels and a few were noticeably narrower; those started tearing along the edges after some use.

Exactly as described
Arrived matching the listing and does the job.

Slightly under stated size but usable
Panels measured a bit smaller than listed but the material and build are fine; more economical than sourcing through a welding supplier.

Heavy-duty chip curtain
Using it as a chip containment barrier around a small mill — holds up nicely.

Long-lasting performance
Installed in a small shed for spark control while welding and grinding. After 3.5 years in an unheated shop with wide temperature swings, it shows no problems.

Good quality but check measurements
Performs well and the green does a solid job blocking arc light. The stated 6'x8' can come back a touch different (mine measured about 5.9' x 8.4') and grommet counts differ by side. Recommend measuring before constructing a frame.
