The Kidde C3010 is supplied as a two-piece kit: the carbon monoxide alarm and a dedicated mounting bracket. The housing is durable plastic with a compact profile designed to fit standard screw patterns and to blend into living areas. Power comes from a sealed lithium battery that is built into the unit and rated to last for the alarm's full 10-year service life, eliminating annual battery swaps.
The alarm uses electrochemical sensing to detect carbon monoxide and communicates status through multiple LEDs and audible signals. A green LED pulses every 30 seconds to show normal operation. When elevated CO is detected a red LED pulses and the device emits the CO alarm pattern (repeated short chirps with pauses), then reduces to periodic patterns as described in the user guidance. An amber LED and brief beeps indicate a fault condition; a single beep on a regular interval signals low battery near end-of-life.
Installation is simple: secure the mounting bracket, slide the alarm into place and it self-activates. A combined Test/Reset button exercises the unit and silences alarms when appropriate. The mounting bracket's inside cover includes a quick reference card with recommended actions if an alarm occurs. At the end of the alarm’s operational life the unit will emit an end-of-service chirp; this chirp can be stopped for safe disposal by using a small screwdriver as directed. The device is intended for use throughout common living areas and carries a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects for the specified term.
