Does the job with minimal fuss
A no-frills swift that does exactly what it should. It opens and folds away easily, holds my skein securely while I wind, and pairs perfectly with my electric cake winder to make the process quick and tidy. When folded it takes up little space, and the clamp grips firmly, though it was just large enough to fit on my table.

More robust than my old swift
This swift feels well made and noticeably tougher than the one I had from another brand that broke after a few uses. The intersecting wooden slats here are thicker and the whole unit has more substance, though it’s not so heavy that it hurts the spin. Setup is straightforward and the wooden tightening screw is easier to operate than the metal thumbscrew that failed on my previous unit. My only frustration is the clamp clearance — it wouldn’t have fit a slightly thicker tabletop. Still, I’m very pleased with how it performs so far.
