Product description
WHAT'S IN THE KIT: The package contains one roll of clear POF (polyolefin) window film sized 62 in by 393 in, plus approximately 98 feet of double-sided PET tape and a printed installation guide. The supplied film can cover roughly up to ten standard 3' x 5' windows, though actual coverage depends on individual window dimensions.
PRE-TAPED EDGE: One long side of the film is pre-applied with tape to make initial placement easier. Depending on how you cut the material, start from the top or a side, align the pre-taped edge, then secure the three remaining sides using the included double-sided tape.
HOW IT INSULATES: After the film is taped in place, applying warm air from a hair dryer will shrink and tighten the sheet, sealing out drafts and reducing heat transfer while allowing natural light and visibility through the clear material.
MATERIALS & ADHESIVE: The clear POF film is flexible yet durable, which helps when cutting and heat-shrinking. The wider PET double-sided tape increases contact with the frame for improved hold on a clean, dry surface. For best results, prepare and dry frames before applying tape.
WHERE TO USE IT: Intended for older single-pane, sliding and basement windows that have enough flat frame area for tape. Compatible with many painted or finished wood, aluminum and vinyl frames. Verify there’s sufficient clearance around blinds, deep trim, handles or cranks before installing to avoid interference.
Pros
- Generous roll size covers multiple windows
- Pre-taped edge speeds up alignment
- Heat-shrinks to a clear, snug finish
Cons
- Tape can fail on some frame surfaces
- May require extra tape for irregular windows
- Not a permanent window replacement
VerdictThis kit delivers a flexible, clear plastic film and extra wide PET tape designed to insulate multiple windows. Installation is straightforward thanks to a pre-taped edge, and a hair dryer tightens the film to reduce drafts while keeping light. Strengths include the tough POF material and generous tape supply; weaknesses reported by some users involve occasional tape adhesion failures on certain f

Simple to install
Having one taped edge made the whole process quick and hassle-free. I’ll buy this style again for ease of setup.

Good value overall
Helped reduce my heating bill and kept rooms warmer. Offers solid performance for the price and I plan to buy more for other windows.

Thin but does the job
Material is quite thin yet clear and effective. The adhesive tape isn’t very strong, though, so expect to reinforce some areas.

Works very well, but instructions lacked detail
The covers dramatically cut drafts and improved room temperature overnight. Installation was manageable and mostly unobtrusive. I docked a star because the directions didn’t explain how or when to use the hair dryer to get a proper shrink—had to find that guidance elsewhere.

Noticeable energy savings
Very impressed with the quality. Installation was straightforward and small errors were fixable. Applying heat visibly tightens the film so you know when it’s sealed. It’s clear enough to see through and stretches over protruding window fixtures like cranks without problems. Great choice for extra winter insulation.

Tape failed after a few days
The sheet itself was clear and shrank nicely, but the tape started peeling within a week and lost tension. Reapplying didn’t fix it. Time-consuming to redo and disappointing given the initial fit.

Easy and effective
Very user-friendly to work with and included plenty of tape. The film is clear and nearly invisible once applied. I felt a difference immediately; it held back the chill effectively.

Adhesion problems and tearing
Frames were cleaned before applying, but the tape wouldn’t stick well. During placement the sheet tore, and repeats of the process failed. I abandoned it after a couple attempts for multiple windows.
