SPIbelt Running Belt — Original Expandable No-Bounce Waist Pack

Product description

What you get: a single expanding pocket attached to a soft elastic waist strap and a robust plastic buckle. The pocket zips closed and stretches to accept phones and small essentials.

Pocket size and capacity: the main compartment expands up to about 9" x 4" x 2", roomy enough for large smartphones, a passport, energy gels, headphones, keys, ID and a few cards. The low-profile design keeps contents close to your body to reduce swing.

Phone compatibility: designed to fit popular models from recent iPhone lines, Samsung Galaxy series, Google Pixel phones and other similarly sized Android devices—most fit comfortably even with a slim case.

Materials and construction: a soft 1" elastic belt minimizes chafing and allows for waist adjustment; the pocket is made from a flexible, durable stretch fabric with a zipper closure. The construction is intended for repeated use on runs, walks, hikes or travel.

Fit range and comfort: the adjustable strap accommodates waist sizes roughly from 25" to 47". The elastic gives a snug, bounce-reducing fit for active movement when worn as recommended around the waist or hips.

How people use it: popular with runners, walkers, cyclists and travelers who want a compact way to carry a phone, keys and cards. It’s often worn during workouts, errands, weekend trips or events where a full bag would be cumbersome. The company is woman-owned and based in Austin, TX.

Pros

  • Expandable pocket fits most large phones and small essentials
  • Soft 1" elastic strap offers adjustable, low-chafe comfort
  • Designed to minimize bounce and keep items close to the body

Cons

  • Single main pocket — limited organizational options
  • May bounce or ride high if overfilled
  • Tighter fit with some newer, bulkier phone+case combinations

VerdictA simple, durable waist pack that focuses on secure carry and comfort. The main elastic pocket swells to hold most modern phones plus a few small items, while the soft adjustable belt and sturdy buckle help prevent chafing and movement. Ideal for runners, walkers and travelers who want a minimal, hands-free option; be mindful that overpacking or placing everything in a single pocket can cause some

Reviews

  1. crbt 5/5

Perfect place to carry a phone

Replaced an older SPIbelt and it performs the same—keeps the phone centered so pockets or back carry won’t pull. Great for gym, gardening and walks.

  2. Robby J Lafont 5/5

Does the job and looks fine

Simple, effective and reliable. I’m satisfied with its performance.

  3. cereal 5/5

    Solid and reliable

Works well for what it’s meant to do.

  4. Liana Warnakulasooriya 5/5

    Minimal design, almost no movement

A very simple carry solution: phone and keys fit securely and the pack doesn’t feel restrictive while running.

  5. Sheena Brown 5/5

    Holds my essentials, super comfortable

Lightweight and stretchy; carries my Galaxy S24 Ultra (case on), gels and pepper spray with no bounce. Adjustable fit stays put—would be nicer with a tiny extra pocket for gels.

  6. mother of two 4/5

    Comfortable but careful with load

Pocket stretches to fit phone, keys and gels. During a half marathon it bounced a bit once I added gloves; it also sits a little higher than I prefer.

  7. Kim Jiang 5/5

    Stayed steady during a marathon

Packed an iPhone 15 plus six gel packs for a marathon with only minimal bounce. Still in great shape after two years of use.

  8. Josip P. 5/5

Get one if you need simple carry

    Very good, straightforward product.

  9. ben 5/5

    Fits Pixel 6 with case

Unlike other pouches, this one holds my Pixel 6 with the case and didn’t shift on runs. Comfortable, reflective and feels well made.

  10. Lucy 5/5

    Does what it promises

Better than expected; fits my iPhone 11 plus spare headphones and keys so I can walk or run hands-free.

  11. Carol 5/5

    Forget-it’s-on convenience

Used mine for years for running and travel — passport and phone were secure on a two-week trip. The large-pocket version fits newer phones snugly.

  12. AM E. 5/5

    Good quality and practical

As described — very good quality and handy for running with a phone.
