Product description
What’s included and build: The package contains the 32-quart Ultra-Light hard cooler itself. The shell is a rigid polymer exterior encasing up to 2.5 inches of closed-cell foam insulation. The lid seals against the body with molded latches that accept a padlock, and there are integrated drain fittings to empty melt water.
Capacity and dimensions: This 32 QT cooler accommodates roughly 48 standard cans and can hold as much as 30 lbs of ice. Exterior measurements are approximately 23.2” × 15.2” × 14.5”, while interior space measures about 17½” × 11” × 9¾”. The empty unit weighs about 14.7 pounds.
Features and typical use: Carried by molded side handles or long rope-style handles, the cooler is intended for portability — hiking shorter trails, UTV or truck trips, beach days, camping, barbecues and travel. Its flat lid can serve as a temporary seat, step, or tabletop. To maintain performance, pre-cooling helps; use the drain plugs to remove water and lock the latches for transit.
Pros
- Significantly lighter than many hard coolers
- 2.5" closed-cell foam for solid ice retention
- Convertible lid for seating or tabletop use
Cons
- Not as heavy-duty as some rotomolded models
- May lose ice faster in extreme heat
- Smaller capacity than larger coolers
VerdictThe RTIC 32 QT Ultra-Light Hard Cooler delivers a strong balance of insulation and portability. Its 2.5-inch closed-cell foam core and robust outer shell preserve ice for extended outings, and the unit is light enough for solo carrying. It accepts about 48 cans or 30 pounds of ice and doubles as a temporary bench or small table. If you want substantial cooling without lugging a heavier rotomolded

Kept food frozen on the road
This cooler did the job — all my food stayed frozen for two days during travel. Very happy with how it held up.

Roomy yet easy to carry
This cooler has good internal space and feels light to carry thanks to built-in handles. You can lock the latches for transport. It’s a practical choice when you want the capacity of a medium cooler without excessive bulk.

Lightweight and easy to secure
I appreciate the long rope handles; they make tie-downs on a UTV or truck simple while keeping the lid accessible. Ice lasted all day despite frequent openings, and the lighter weight is a clear advantage over some larger hard coolers I’ve owned.

Perfect fit for our RZR and outings
This cooler fit neatly on our RZR and kept drinks, fruit and veggies chilled. Drainage was straightforward, it wasn’t cumbersome, and its versatility made it useful from off-roading to park trips and family gatherings. Size matched the listing well.

Lightweight option for our camper
I chose this because our pop-up camper lacks a working fridge. After research it seemed like a capable, lighter alternative to pricier brands. It’s well made, fits our space, and has kept items cold for routine use. We haven’t pushed it in extreme heat yet, but it’s performed well so far.

Great value; held ice over the holiday
My husband really liked it. We packed a full bag of ice on Christmas and two days later there was still ice left. No leaks, drinks stayed cold, and it wasn’t too heavy even with contents. Lid opens easily and overall quality impressed us—definitely a cooler I’d recommend for similar needs.

Ideal size for our needs and trips
We replaced a 50 QT unit that was heavy when full. The 32 QT is far easier to move and still keeps things cold. On a four-day camping trip it maintained temperature without adding ice after pre-cooling overnight. After several days only a small amount of ice remained but the water stayed cold.

Solid construction and reliable cooling
I bought the 32 QT Ultra-Light wanting durable cooling on long outings. The build feels sturdy with secure latches and decent insulation. I tested the drain plugs by hand-tightening them and packing ice above the plugs for several days — no seepage. For an ice longevity test I filled it from a 24 lb bag with no pre-cooling; it kept a substantial amount of ice far longer than expected for a simple setup.
