Product description
Keep honey bees nourished when natural nectar is scarce using this entrance-mounted syrup feeder. The unit includes a 1-quart glass jar and a molded high-impact plastic base with an extended feeding tray so bees can access syrup without blocking the entrance.
The clear glass jar lets the keeper monitor syrup levels without lifting frames or disturbing activity inside the hive. The base is designed to slip into the front entrance opening and is specifically shaped to fit the large hole in the entrance reducer on Little Giant 10-frame hives.
Materials are a glass jar and durable plastic for the base; the jar screws into the base for a simple, leak-resistant connection when assembled correctly. The feeder measures L 6.5” x W 4” x H 7.375” and provides an ample supply of sugar water to sustain colonies during dearths.
Made in the USA, the unit is easy to clean and refill — the jar can be removed from outside the hive for topping up. Some keepers modify or replace the metal lid over time to avoid corrosion.
Pros
- Clear glass jar shows syrup level
- Accessible tray allows bees to feed while entering/exiting
- Fits the large opening on Little Giant 10-frame entrance reducers
Cons
- Metal lid can corrode with outdoor exposure
- A few reports of leaks at the base
- May be a tight fit on some hive setups
VerdictA straightforward entrance feeder that holds a generous quart of syrup in a visible glass jar and offers an accessible tray for worker bees. Construction is generally durable, but some users report lid corrosion and occasional fit or leak problems. Good for backyard keepers who want an easy refill option and visibility into feed levels.

Holds 1-qt Mason jar
Received bottles and caps so fit was certain. Needed to loosen a glued seam on my bottom board to seat the base; colony got testy during the adjustment.

Works great for the ladies
Feeder does its job. I swapped rusting metal lids for punched plastic ones and the bees are happier.

One star — lid rusts
Top corrodes quickly.

Switched back after tray feeder drownings
Tried a tray feeder and lost bees; this one cut drownings. Metal lid did begin to rust, so I fashioned a punched canning lid to replace it. The jar can be refilled from outside the hive.

Don't waste your money
Leaked from the plastic base on first use and wouldn't stay put without taping it into the entrance.
