Product description
Triple-concentrated vanilla paste intended as a direct swap for vanilla extract at a 1:1 ratio for recipes calling for vanilla. Formulated to provide a richer, deeper vanilla presence compared with ordinary extract.
Made by macerating whole Madagascar and Bourbon vanilla beans in grain alcohol and invert sugar, then straining to produce a thick, spoonable paste. The ingredient list is deliberately short — whole vanilla beans, grain alcohol, and invert sugar — with no artificial thickeners, gums, or fillers added.
Every spoonful shows the little black seeds from the beans, giving baked goods a speckled, artisanal appearance and an authentic vanilla aroma. The texture is paste-like, similar to a thick icing, and blends into batters, frostings, custards, and creams.
Use it to flavor cake batters, buttercreams, custards, puddings, ice cream bases, lattes, syrups, and coffee. It can stand in for whole vanilla beans, powdered vanilla, or extract when a more pronounced vanilla profile and visual seed flecks are desired.
Supplied in an 8 oz bottle that is intended to last through multiple baking projects, the jar replaces multiple bottles of extract or several vanilla pods for frequent bakers and home cooks.
Pros
- Rich, concentrated vanilla flavor
- Visible real vanilla bean seeds
- Versatile across baking and beverages
Cons
- Some reports of inconsistent flavor profile
- Occasional sticky or imperfect bottle seal
- Very dark color may not suit all aesthetics
VerdictA concentrated vanilla paste that delivers a pronounced, authentic vanilla character and the visual appeal of real bean specks. The ingredient list is simple — whole beans, alcohol, and invert sugar — and the 8 oz jar is generous for regular bakers. Most users praise the flavor intensity and versatility in everything from buttercream to beverages, though a few buyers noted packaging and flavor con

Bigger than expected and flavorful. The bottle lasts a long time and the vanilla character is strong and satisfying.

Adds noticeable depth compared to extract
This paste contributed a more complex vanilla profile than plain extract. A little goes a long way and it enhanced my baked goods.

Clean flavor that worked well in frosting
First time trying paste; the ingredient list is short and straightforward. It gave my frosting a lovely vanilla note. The texture is more like a thin icing and the color is deep brown. Would purchase again.

High quality for regular bakers
Excellent quality for the jar size. I bake often and went through this quickly in multiple recipes. I ordered extras to keep on hand because the flavor and consistency were reliably good.

Not suitable for my sourdough applications
I’ve tried other pastes and found this one has a sharp, slightly pungent note that didn’t blend well with my sweet bread swirls. The very dark color also affected the appearance of my loaves.

Very flavorful in cake
Used it in a cake and the results were delicious. The vanilla taste was prominent and I plan to buy again.

Aroma and concentration stand out
Generous jar with a rich vanilla aroma. The paste is concentrated and aromatic; my muffins turned out moist and flavorful. Use sparingly when substituting for extract.

Pleasantly surprising flavor; packaging could improve
I had doubts at first but the paste delivered deep, authentic vanilla and plenty of seeds. It boosted baked goods and even a coffee syrup. The only drawback was a sticky seal and less sturdy bottle, so four stars.
