Product description
What’s included: one Optifit headcollar in size M and one training leash in size L (black).
Headcollar details: Constructed from strong, lightweight webbing, the Optifit headcollar features an adjustable nose band and cheek straps secured with a camlock to accommodate dogs that fall between standard sizes. The noseband is padded for comfort and finished with reflective material for low-light visibility. A safety link to the collar is provided so the dog still has a secondary attachment point. The shape and adjustability make this suitable for breeds with varied muzzle profiles such as Boxers and Greyhounds.
Leash details: The training leash is made from premium lightweight webbing that is durable in multiple weather conditions while remaining comfortable to hold. It’s a double-ended design with two trigger clips, enabling up to seven different configurations — from a single long lead to a shorter double-clip lead, hands-free loop, or temporary tether. The handle area is softly padded for user comfort during extended walks.
How to use: The headcollar gently steers the dog by redirecting head movement, which reduces pulling without restricting panting, drinking, or eating. Adjust the nose band and cheek straps for a snug fit, secure the camlock, and attach the safety link to the collar. Pairing the headcollar with the double-ended leash gives you multiple control options and the ability to change length or create a two-point connection for training or tethering needs.
Pros
- Adjustable fit suits varied muzzle shapes
- Padded, reflective noseband for comfort and visibility
- Versatile, multi-configuration leash with two clips
Cons
- Some dogs initially resist wearing the noseband
- Leash material may be vulnerable to heavy chewing
- Metal clips have reported failures in rare cases
VerdictThis pairing combines gentle steering control with a versatile leash for everyday walks and training. The headcollar’s adjustable nose band and cheek straps fit a wide range of breeds — including those with unusual muzzle shapes — while the padded, reflective nosepiece keeps the dog comfortable and visible. The training leash is sturdy yet supple, with two trigger clips to create seven connection

Good overall but muzzle strap feels flimsy
Product works, but the thin nose strap seemed uncomfortable for my dog, especially if left on for longer periods. It could use a sturdier, more cushioned design.

Well made — check measurements first
Good construction and soft around the snout. Make sure to measure your dog to choose the right size for a proper fit.

Failed within months
I’ve used this brand before and bought a spare. After only a few months the clasps snapped off with a single tug. The headcollar concept is fine, but this unit seemed defective.

Thin material — chewed through
Had to take time to accustom my dog to wearing it, but when we tried walking she bit through the leash. Be aware if your dog likes to chew.

Would purchase again
My 67 lb pit mix was a constant puller and lunger. This combination made walks far more manageable — she now walks beside me and is easier to correct.

Immediate improvement on the very first outing
We have a 2.5-year-old golden-labradoodle (90 lb) that used to yank on the lead. Other tools failed, but this headcollar stopped all pulling on my first short walk. She tried to paw at the noseband a few times, but I expect she’ll adapt. The leash feels solid and comfortable to hold.

Reliable for larger dogs when fitted correctly
Only halter I use for my 70 lb Standard Poodle. Works wonders if you fit it properly — ensure the nose strap stays secure and the collar sits behind the ears.

Good padding and solid control
Great for managing walks. My lab didn’t love having it on his face and tried to rub it off, but the padding is comfortable and it gave me the control I needed.

Effective but disliked by the dog
Helps control a strong 45 kg dog, but he never warmed up to wearing it. After a couple of months he still dislikes it, though it works for management.

Transformative for my assistance dog training
Training my 7-month F1 Labradoodle as an assistance dog was much easier with this. The steering is precise — I can guide him with minimal effort — and it reduces strain on my shoulder compared with a harness.

Essential for daily walks
I can’t imagine walking my dog without this now. It’s become a must-have for our outings.

Leash breaks easily if puppy bites
I love the system, but the leash is fragile. If you have a puppy that chews, a single bite can snap it.
