Product description

Sixteen real gemstones are embedded across individual dig blocks, giving kids the thrill of uncovering authentic mineral specimens. The kit supplies a full-color learning booklet that helps identify each stone and shares simple geological notes and fun facts.

The blocks are made from a non-toxic gypsum/plaster blend and measure roughly 2½ to 3 inches per side, sized for small hands. The gemstones themselves vary in shape and can be up to about an inch across, so youngsters get a range of crystal types and sizes.

Tools included are a child-sized hammer, a chisel, a detail brush, safety goggles, and a handheld magnifying glass. Handles are designed for kids, combining plastic grips with sturdy tips so they can chip, scrape, and clean specimens safely under supervision.

Use is straightforward: place a block on a hard surface, tap and scrape away material to reveal the gem, then brush and examine it using the magnifier and guide. For less airborne dust, dampening the block slightly before digging is recommended.

Aimed at ages 6 and up, this kit supports STEM learning, encourages patience and fine-motor skills, and is suitable for birthday projects, classroom activities, or independent play. Adult supervision is advised during excavation to protect eyes and control mess.

    Vivid colors, watch the dust
