These four-ingredient Caprese Salad Skewers are my go-to appetizer for potlucks. They take about 10 minutes to assemble and are always a crowd-pleaser. All you need is fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, and a balsamic glaze.

If you need a simple, reliable appetizer to bring to a potluck or holiday gathering, these skewers are perfect. They combine salty, creamy mozzarella with juicy cherry tomatoes and bright basil, finished with a sweet-tart balsamic glaze.
Made with just four ingredients, these Caprese skewers are quick to prepare and easy to transport—ideal for last-minute entertaining or busy weeknights.

Balsamic Glaze
Balsamic glaze is a simple, flavorful finishing touch that elevates these skewers. It adds a gentle sweetness and bright acidity that pairs beautifully with mozzarella and tomatoes.
You can buy ready-made glaze at most grocery stores or make it at home by reducing balsamic vinegar. A homemade glaze is easy and stores well in the fridge.
To make a quick glaze: simmer 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar until it reduces by half. Cool and store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Mozzarella Balls
Mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine) are perfect for these skewers because they’re the right size and look charming on a toothpick. If you can’t find them, a log of fresh mozzarella cut into small cubes works just as well.
Smaller specialty or natural-food stores often stock pre-packaged mini mozzarella, but cutting a fresh log saves time and ensures freshness when needed.

Ready in Minutes
Assembly is very straightforward: place a cherry tomato, a basil leaf, and a mozzarella ball on a toothpick (or your preferred order) and repeat until finished. Arrange on a serving platter and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
These bite-sized Caprese skewers are fresh, flavorful, and instantly appealing—perfect for entertaining or as a simple appetizer at home.

Enjoy!
