After our Thanksgiving meal, my husband Ted and I relaxed at home and enjoyed a new board game we recently discovered called Fromage. The game is lighthearted and full of charm, and it had us laughing as we planned our moves. Sitting at our cozy kitchen table with a fun, strategic game made for a perfect end to a lovely day.

What is the Fromage Board Game?
Fromage is a delightful board game set in early 20th-century France where players take the role of artisanal cheesemakers. The game uses a rotating board that represents the aging process, which adds a strategic element to worker placement and resource management. For our session, Ted played the role of a dairy farmer while I took the part of a milkmaid.
During a typical round, players place workers to craft different cheeses and collect ingredients, then adapt their plans as the board rotates. Since we were learning the rules, we took turns helping one another—Ted is especially good at board games and was happy to guide me through the mechanics.

The objective of Fromage is to manage your creamery efficiently: produce a variety of cheeses—soft, aged, and blue—sometimes pairing them with fruits and jams, fulfill orders, and upgrade your facilities with farm buildings and animals. I especially enjoyed crafting the fruity cheese combinations in the game.
Bring Fromage to Your Gaming Table
With its charming theme and appealing components, Fromage offers a rewarding experience for casual players and seasoned hobbyists alike. The rules are approachable and gameplay moves at a comfortable pace, which makes it a great choice for a holiday evening after a big meal.
The game supports one to four players and includes a solo mode where you compete against an automated “corporation” that aims to dominate the cheese market. There are two editions available: Regular and Limited Edition. The Limited Edition includes upgraded wooden pieces like farm animals, but both editions deliver the complete gameplay experience.
