Product description
This product comes as a single 24 oz pouch of second-cut Timothy hay intended for tortoises. The hay is harvested from Timothy grass and is selected for later cuts to increase leaf content and nutritional value.
The material is dried Timothy hay, noted for its higher fiber and moderate protein and vitamin content compared with first-cut options. The bag is hand-packed to remove larger sticks and branches and to reduce dust, then sealed in a sturdy pouch suitable for storage between uses.
Use by offering a portion daily alongside greens and other recommended tortoise foods to support grazing behavior and digestive health. Some owners soak the hay briefly to soften it for juveniles or sensitive eaters.
Packaging is designed to keep the hay intact and prevent poking through; the pouch can be resealed after opening to maintain freshness for multiple feedings.
Pros
- High-fiber second-cut Timothy
- Hand-packed with low dust
- Resealable 24 oz pouch
Cons
- Some tortoises may refuse it
- Single size option only
- Not nutritionally complete alone
VerdictA straightforward 24-ounce bag of second-cut Timothy hay that offers fiber and enrichment for many tortoises. Hand-packed to limit debris and sold in a resealable pouch, it’s a convenient supplement for owners whose reptiles accept hay. Not all species or picky eaters will take to it.

My tortoise refuses it
It’s okay, but my tortoise won’t eat it despite chopping and mixing with other foods.

Fresh, low-dust and offers good enrichment
I bought this for my tortoises and they accepted it immediately. The bag arrived clean with minimal dust. It adds fiber and browsing activity, and the quantity lasted well. Quality exceeded expectations and I’d repurchase.

Works for some, not for others
Exactly what it says — dried Timothy hay. Our two Horsefield tortoises won’t touch it even when soaked, but our Hermann accepts it wet or dry. The pouch is sturdy and reseals easily.
