Product description
This kit arrives as a complete detection package: a rechargeable handheld controller with display, two specialized probes (DMR-H40 for narrow voids and DMR-V59 for indoor pipe work), a large orange ground transducer, over-ear headphones and a protective hard carrying case.
The sensors use a dual-membrane piezoelectric element designed to pick up high-frequency noise from pressurized pipe cracks. That piezoelectric construction is chosen for fast response, good accuracy and resistance to electrical interference, making it suitable for household tap lines, floor-heating loops and buried mains.
Operation offers two modes: a fast General Detection Mode for sweeping larger areas and a focused Location Mode capable of narrowing the source to roughly 10 cm. Users switch between modes to first find a noisy zone and then pinpoint the exact spot for excavation or repair.
Ergonomics include an adjustable, portable handle for one-handed use and an IP54-rated enclosure to cope with damp jobsite conditions. The kit’s hard case protects components in transit and storage.
The interface supports a dozen languages and the unit is covered by a two-year warranty, giving multilingual menus and manufacturer support for extended peace of mind.
Pros
- Comprehensive kit including probes, transducer, headphones and hard case
- Sensitive piezoelectric dual-membrane sensor with two detection modes
- Rugged IP54 enclosure and adjustable handle for jobsite use
Cons
- Requires practice to interpret audio and readings
- Can give false positives in noisy or complex plumbing layouts
- Accessory strap and hookups could be improved
VerdictA robust acoustic leak locator that pairs durable hardware with precise sensing when used properly. It excels at narrowing leak positions in walls and underground runs, but requires some practice to interpret signals. Well built, portable, and feature-rich for homeowners and technicians who will spend time learning its cues.

Quick setup — reassurance for homeowners
Straight out of the case it was easy to power up and learn the basics. I walked likely spots and everything checked out clear. The readings felt reliable and it gave me peace of mind for routine home checks.

Limited detection success
Not very effective at locating the leak in my case.

False positives led to extra digging
The hardware feels well made and includes helpful accessories like clear display and headphones, but there’s a learning curve. Background noise and multiple pipes can produce confusing signals. Once you learn the patterns it can narrow down problem areas, but patience and practice are required.

Located a buried leak
After spotting a spike in my water bill I bought this kit. It arrived in a very sturdy case, I charged the controller, attached the orange transducer and put on the supplied headphones. At first there was only background static, but with the probe and sensitivity tweaks I ultimately tracked down the underground leak.

No luck yet
I can’t give a full rating yet — I haven’t found the leak. Still searching and testing different probe positions.

Accessible for beginners
This unit is user-friendly enough to get useful results without deep expertise. I isolated a leak behind sheetrock that I would not have found otherwise. Build quality is solid and it performed better than rudimentary methods.

High-quality build, effective locating
Bought this to map pipe runs in an older house for remodeling. After adjusting sensitivity I was able to find pipe locations in thick insulated walls. The case and unit finish are excellent and the lid locks securely. One small gripe: the carrying strap would be nicer with snap hooks.
