Product description
Included: one roll of self-adhesive foam tape measuring 1/2 inch wide, 1/16 inch thick, and 66 feet long.
Material & construction: The strip is made from closed-cell EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) sponge foam that resists compression set and maintains shape. A pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with a grid-style release liner runs along the back to help distribute glue and reduce trapped air when applied.
Sizing & trimming: The long continuous roll can be cut to any length with scissors or a utility blade, allowing you to tailor pieces to door frames, window sashes, vents, or appliance seams. Its thin profile is suited to narrow gaps and tight-fitting joints.
Adhesion & conditions: The adhesive is formulated for strong initial tack; the manufacturer recommends applying only to clean, dry surfaces for best results. The foam is rated to withstand typical household temperature swings (approximately -4°F to 140°F).
Function & performance: This black foam strip offers sealing against weather, dust, and light moisture, plus cushioning, vibration damping, sound insulation, and some flame-retardant properties. Common uses include sealing doors and windows, lining cabinets or speakers, cushioning equipment, and serving as light gaskets for HVAC, auto, marine, and appliance applications.
Pros
- Long 66 ft roll that’s easy to cut to size
- Strong initial tack on clean surfaces
- Flexible EVA foam with weather and temperature resistance
Cons
- Protective liner can tear while peeling
- Adhesion varies by surface — not uniform on every material
- Thin 1/16" thickness won’t fill wide gaps
VerdictThis self-stick foam tape is an affordable, versatile sealing strip that adheres well to many surfaces and is simple to trim and apply. It delivers reliable draft control, sound dampening, and cushioning for everyday home and vehicle needs. Expect occasional trouble with the protective liner tearing during installation and some variation in tack depending on the surface, but overall it performs as

Upgrade over thin strips
Replaced old flimsy draught excluder on the front door — very pleased with the sturdier feel.

Good cold protection
Used it on a shed door to block cold air. It sticks well and made the door airtight. I recommend it.

Works — backing can be fussy
Holds firmly to the wood frame and hasn’t budged. The only mild annoyance was the release liner tearing at odd angles, so I had to stop and lift it with a fingernail to keep going. Minor hassle but I’d purchase again.

Sealed my drafty doors
In an older house with misaligned doors this tape stopped drafts completely. Installation was straightforward and it can be repositioned if you need to adjust. I had plenty left to use around the rest of the house and it helped keep the room sealed through a cold season.

Not the tackiest
Doesn’t cling as strongly as some other brands I’ve tried, but it’s fine for temporary seasonal sealing.
