If you’ve been reading here for a while, you know I’m obsessed with smoothies. I share staple recipes often and readers frequently ask for more. I typically have a smoothie three or four times a week, but in summer that jumps to once or twice a day. Smoothies are my favorite way to fuel up and stay cool when the weather heats up.

In summer we go fruit picking at our local farm. When peach season arrives we sometimes bring home more than 20 pounds in a single visit, so I look for as many ways as possible to use them. This roasted peach smoothie started as one of those experiments and quickly became a summer staple.

I love this smoothie and don’t mind having it almost daily. The roasted peaches add a deeper, richer fruit flavor while the cottage cheese gives it an ultra-creamy texture and a hint of cheesecake-like richness. Roasted peach cheesecake in a glass — hard to resist.

For a long time I avoided cottage cheese because of its appearance, but it’s really a nutritious ingredient. Cottage cheese is high in protein and adds both body and creaminess to smoothies without tasting heavy. It enriches the texture and lends a subtle tang that echoes cheesecake, making it an excellent choice for fruit-forward blends.
Besides smoothies, cottage cheese works well in dips, sauces, and anywhere you want a boost of creaminess and protein. For me, this roasted peach smoothie is one of the best ways to enjoy it. If you’re looking for more inspiration, brands such as Friendship Dairies offer recipes and serving ideas.

How do you like to fuel your day? Right now I’m fueling to finish unpacking and to plan a weekend at the beach — a smoothie keeps me energized for both.
