Product description
What you get: a single solid shampoo bar presented in plastic‑free cardboard packaging. It’s intended as a bottleless alternative to liquid shampoo and is sized to sit on a shower shelf, fit in a gym bag, or travel in carry‑on luggage.
Formula and materials: crafted with real single malt Scotch whisky sourced from Islay and fortified with Longsheng rice water. The ingredient profile is marketed as free of sulfates and parabens and packaged without plastic to reduce waste.
How it’s used: wet hair, work the bar across the scalp or lather in your hands, massage the foam through hair and rinse thoroughly. For a fully bottle‑free routine, use the paired Aged Sandalwood conditioner bar and a wooden bar holder to keep the bar dry between uses.
Scent and experience: the fragrance leans into deep, warm sandalwood notes designed for a masculine grooming ritual rather than a generic scent. The solid format provides a substantial feel in hand and is sized for everyday use or short trips.
Pros
- Hydrating formula with rice water and whisky
- Travel‑friendly, compact solid format
- Plastic‑free, sulfate‑ and paraben‑free composition
Cons
- Fragrance may be muted for some users

Great scent and longevity for travel
Nice warm aroma, cleans effectively without drying out, and seems to last longer than other solid shampoos I’ve tried. Bought it for trips but now use it at home because I like the smell.

We both appreciate the fragrance
My husband and I enjoy the woody scent so much we left it out and kept noticing it. Packaged in cardboard with no inner plastic. Easy to take on flights and suitable for everyday use while cutting down on waste.

Shine and scent for long hair
From the shape to the scent and the shine it leaves, I’m very pleased. It tames long hair nicely. If you plan recurring purchases, consider buying directly from the brand.

Noticeable improvement in his hair
After using this, my husband’s hair quality improved and there are signs of regrowth. Highly recommend for similar concerns.

Does well on locs
Great smell, builds a rich lather and rinses clean from my locs. No residue left behind.

Packaging and texture were disappointing
I expected the origami‑style box shown in the listing but received a plain square box labeled Hamish & Co. It barely foams compared with previous bars I’ve used and felt a bit gritty when rubbed on hair, leaving it somewhat dry and brittle.

Premium feel, long‑lasting performance
The bar holds up surprisingly well — dense and long‑wearing. It produces a creamy lather that cleans without stripping and left my hair noticeably softer and easier to style after a few washes. The bar feels substantial in hand and, with regular use, my hair looked healthier and shinier.

Lathers impressively if stored right
I keep mine in a vented container away from the stream of water. It lathers better than anything I've used; two rotations gave plenty of foam. If overused or left damp, it won’t last as long as advertised.

Crumbling bar and faint fragrance
It arrived looking crumbly and the box seemed aged. The scent was barely there and not what I expected. Overall felt like poor quality for the price.
