Product description
What’s included: a 500X fluid video head with a 60mm flat base and XCHANGE quick-release compatibility, paired with the ONE Hybrid carbon-fibre tripod. The head accepts standard 3/8" threads and arrives with the XCHANGE plate system for fast swapping between tripods, sliders, and other rigs.
Materials and construction: the tripod uses carbon-fibre legs for improved stiffness-to-weight performance, combined with durable metal alloy components in the head and leg mechanisms. The head features a precision fluid drag system for consistent pan and tilt resistance.
Range and load: the fluid head offers full 360° panning and a wide tilt sweep from approximately -70° to +90°, enabling both low-angle and overhead framing. The head is rated to handle typical mirrorless and light DSLR/video setups up to an 11 lb payload (manufacturer rating), and the 60mm flat-base allows modular compatibility across systems.
Key mechanisms and usage: the hinged camera plate permits near-instant switches between landscape and portrait orientation, ideal for social clips, tutorials, and cinematic sequences. The tripod’s patented XTEND leg system lets you deploy all sections in one motion for speedy setup, and the integrated leveling column speeds precise framing on uneven ground. The XCHANGE quick-release interface makes swapping heads and accessories rapid and secure, while the single-column lift and counterbalance support steady rises and lowers. Use this set for studio shoots, tabletop overhead work, location interviews, and mid-distance travel where a balance of stability and portability matters.
Pros
- Smooth, controllable pan and tilt with wide tilt range
- Hinged plate for instant portrait/landscape switching
- Fast leg deployment and built-in leveling column
Cons
- Not ultra-light—can feel heavy to carry long distances
- Payload limited compared with large video heads
- Some users may need to buy head separately depending on kit
VerdictThis kit combines a refined fluid drag head with a sturdy hybrid carbon-fibre tripod to offer controlled pans, fast orientation changes, and easy setup. The head’s 60mm flat base is XCHANGE-ready and accommodates common 3/8" fittings; the system supports modest payloads for mirrorless and light video rigs and is well suited to studio, tabletop, and short-location shoots. Just the facts man 5/5
Pro-level feel and buttery movement across cameras
As a working photographer I expected quality and this delivers. The build is rock-solid and the fluid head pans and tilts with impressive consistency. I tested it with everything from a small action camera up to full-frame bodies and even larger, older-format gear—the head remained composed and smooth throughout, making video work a real pleasure.

Built like a tank, but heavier than expected
This 500X combo handles group shoots and video duties very well. The construction feels excellent—solid and durable—but it’s noticeably heavy. The included carrying bag is handy and slips the tripod in easily. Functionality is superb: smooth pan/tilt, easy leveling, and a very useful 90° tilt for portrait shots.

Go carbon to shave down carry weight
I set up a small home studio and wanted a carbon option. The tripod is made with robust carbon legs and the 60mm 500X head (purchased alongside) integrates perfectly via XCHANGE. After watching tutorials the counterbalance and single-lift column became second nature. The leg locks feel reassuringly firm—now I need to match a suitable bag and accessories.

Extremely stable—possibly overkill for smaller setups
I bought this to support a Sony RX10 V with a 600mm reach and it’s rock steady. It may be heavier than necessary for smaller cameras, but the hinged plate and long panning handle are very well executed. There are plenty of extra features like low-angle folding I haven’t fully explored yet, but the platform inspires confidence.

Check this out America! 5/5
Hybrid support that handles studio stills and fluid video
Short version: rigid enough for heavy rigging and the 90° column makes overhead tabletop work easy on my back. I mounted a Canon R5 II with a 70–200 f/2.8 and the torsional stability was excellent. Quick twist leg locks held steady, the leveling column saved a lot of fuss on uneven ground, and the rated payload kept the rig from creeping. Note that the leg spread locks take a deliberate push when wearing gloves, but vibration damping is effective.

A truly beautiful, high-quality rig
Stunning piece of equipment with a superb fluid head—very impressed by the combination. I have nothing but praise for its look and performance.

Solid first impressions, too new for a long-term call
I just received this set and can’t report on longevity yet, but out of the box it feels robust and functions smoothly. The flip-to-portrait plate is convenient and matches what I needed. Note that even the carbon-fibre version is bulkier than I assumed—fine for short transports but not ideal for long backpacking days. I still use a monopod for extended hikes.
